Shade Control for Somfy RTS is designed to link your Somfy RTS shades to your network and provide a remote control interface over the web and through various dedicated apps and/or home automation systems.

Firmware 1.2.4 update

IMPORTANT: If you are upgrading from version 1.2.2 or below you must reconfigure any timers that use P1, P2, P3 presets.

NOTE: Firmware and web pages are updated separately and may have different version numbers. The latest update contains the most recent version of each.

Installation Notes

The Autelis Shade Control interfaces to the Somfy RTS Universal II Interface (sold separately, part #1810872) and is compatible with any motors that can be linked to it.

Connection to Universal II Interface

The Autelis Shade Control interfaces directly to the Somfy RTS Universal II Interface using the included cable. Please do not use other cables to connect the devices and contact customer service for replacements. You may use a cat-5 extension cable to lengthen the distance between your devices. Please make sure it is a straight through cable. Also please ensure that the rotary dial on the Universal II Interface is set to 1 and that it is powered by its own adapter.

Connection to Network

Installation requires connection to your network router or switch which supports 10Base-T Ethernet. Connect the built-in ethernet port to your network device using the included cat-5 cable or a standard cat-5 networking cable of your choice. You may also use a wireless bridge or a Powerline network device to provide the network connection. The Shade Control device will obtain an IP address automatically via DHCP.

Connection to Power

Connect the included power adapter to the device and plug it into a standard wall outlet. When plugged in, the green LED on the ethernet port will blink for 5 seconds and then the device will boot normally.

Web Interface

To access the web interface type 'http://shadecontrol' into your browser. This may not work with all routers and network configurations (see below hint). You can also type the IP address of the Shade Control device which can be found in your router interface by matching an IP address from the table with the MAC address printed on the bottom of the device or by using an IP scanner tool to search by MAC address. Log in using the username 'admin' and the default password 'admin'.

Windows Hint: In your network connection properties under TCP/IPv4 properties, click the advanced button. In the DNS tab, select "Append these DNS suffixes (in order)" and click add and enter "." (a single period with no quotes).


This page displays the basic shade controls for each of the 16 groups.

Click to send the preset 1 command as configured on the presets page.
Click to send the preset 2 command as configured on the presets page.
Click to send the preset 3 command as configured on the presets page.
Click to send a close command.
Click to send a stop or MY command.
Click to send an open command.


This page displays any existing timers and allows you to create new timers.

If there are no timers configured, a timer called "New Timer" will automatically be populated for you to configure. If there are existing timers, they will be labeled "Timer #" in numerical order. To add another new timer, click the "Add Timer" button.

To configure a timer, first set the days on which you wish the timer to run. Do this by clicking on the "MTWRFSU" letters that abbreviate each day of the week. When active, a day will be shown as red. Double-click any day to set them all active or inactive at once. Then set the time of day you wish the timer to run. Some examples of the format to use are: "12:00PM", "2:30PM", "1:05AM". You can also set a time based on sunrise and sunset in the format "SR", "SR+10", "SR-10" or "SS", "SS+10", "SS-10" where the offset is specified in minutes from 0-255. Make sure to populate the sun table for your location if you are using these timers. Next, set the command you wish the timer to execute by choosing the group and command from the drop down menus. The command can be Up, Down, Stop, Preset1, Preset2, or Preset3. When you are finished adding new timers, save the changes. Timers are not saved until they are listed as numbered timers instead of "New Timer".

To disable a timer, double click its name. Disabled timers will be indicated by a (D). These timers will remain in memory but will not be executed.

To delete a timer, set all the days to inactive and save the changes. The timer will be deleted from memory.

You can create up to 100 timers.

Note: When you configure timers your timezone information is automatically retrieved from your computer's settings and stored into the Shade Control memory. Timer commands are repeated once after a 5 second delay to increase reliability.


This page allows you to set presets for each group.

Due to the limitations of the Somfy interface, presets are designed as sequences of timed commands. To configure a preset, first you must measure the amount of time it takes for your shade to go from completely closed to completely open or vice versa. Enter this into the box labeled "Duration" in whole seconds. If you have shades of different lengths in the same group you may not wish to use presets for that group. The boxes 1 through 3 are the preset values and are defined as follows:

The first character can be either 'c','o','+', or '-' and is followed by a number from 0 to 100 that represents a percentage.

For example, "c50" means 50% closed, "o20" means 20% open, "+30" means go up 30% from the current position, and "-40" means go down 40% from the current position.


This page shows the firmware version, time as kept by the Shade Control device (adjusted for your computer's timezone settings), and allows you to enable or disable daylight savings time (DST).

This page also allows you to change the admin password and set the names for the 16 shade groups.

All fields are limited to 15 characters or less.

Click the Sync Time button to set Shade Control's time to match your computer. Normally this is not necessary as Shade Control will obtain the time automatically over the internet.

Sun Table

This page allows you to populate the sun table for sunrise/sunset times based on your location. Fill in your latitude (N) and longitude (E) and press Calculate to fill the sun table. Click Save to save the table to memory. These values will be used in the timers function. Sunrise & sunset times will be calculated to the minute based on table values and linear approximation.

An easy way to find your coordinates is to google, for example "Los Angeles coordinates".

Mobile Web App

Shade Control contains a built-in mobile web app which can be accessed from any browser including iPhone, iPad, and Android devices.

Saving Password

The app allows you to save your password so that you do not need to log in every time you visit it. This is especially useful when adding the app to your home screen on iOS devices. To save your password, load the app and click on the settings button in the top right corner. Then click "Save Password". To clear your saved password, click "Clear Password".

Controlling Shades

To control your shades, simply click on the group name. You will see a control panel pop up with buttons for Up, Down, Stop, and presets.

Emergency Factory Reset / Forgotten Password

In the event you have forgotten your password, you will need to factory reset your device.

Hardware Model BN100 & SN100 - To do this, go to http://poolcontrol/userreset.cgi?do=true or in your web browser and enter the username "admin" and for the password enter the security key printed on the label on the bottom of your device. The security key can only be used to factory reset the device and will not allow you to access any other web pages.

Hardware Model XN200 - Use a pen tip to depress the reset button on the back of the device for 2 seconds until the lights on the ethernet port turn off, then immediately release.

Home Automation System Integration


TCP port 6000 accepts data that is passed directly to the Universal II Interface. Use serial commands that follow the Universal II Interface format.

For example, send "0101U\r\n" to raise the group 1 shades. The equivalent hex string would be "30313031550D0A".


You can also use HTTP GET commands in the following format:

addr - the address of the Universal II Interface (will always be 1 unless you have more than one interface connected)
gp - the group/channel you want to control (1-16)
val - the command you want to execute (up, st, dn, ps1, ps2, ps3)

NOTE: HTTP GET commands require a valid basic authorization header to be sent.
